Supercritical CO2 extraction is an efficient, automated method. Unfortunately, it has a high carbon footprint. Production of CO2 requires the burning of fossil fuels. It also requires high electric input. Once the CO2 process is done, the extract must go through a process utilizing ethanol, which in some cases, is denatured.
Green Ridge's extraction utilizes cryogenically chilled, organic grain alcohol. This is a more artisanal process, that is by nature, not as efficient, but extremely effective in extracting a wealth of various beneficial compounds from hemp. Production of grain alcohol has a much lower carbon footprint, which is better for our planet's health.
